FUNERALS

When someone dies, it is often a shock however much a death is expected.

You need to contact a Funeral Director as soon as possible. Firms advertise in the yellow pages and the local newspaper. They will tell you what to do next and make all the necessary arrangements.

We welcome you to use St George’s, St Chad’s or St Cecilia’s for funerals, or, if you prefer, one of the clergy will take a service for you at the Crematorium or in the Chapel at the town’s Cemetery. Burials or interment of ashes may take place in St George’s Churchyard.

Once the date has been fixed, the person taking the funeral will arrange a visit to discuss the service with you. You might like to choose a couple of hymns.
